Paris Saint-Germain Edges Marseille in a Shootout to Lift Trophee des Champions Super Cup in the Middle East.

Trophy celebration scene

The Parisian club has now won the prestigious cup on fourteen different times.

The Parisian giants needed a dramatic leveler followed by a successful penalty shootout to get past Marseille in Kuwait and capture a fourth straight French Super Cup victory.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a comfortable triumph in the showdown between the French league winners and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele found the scoring in the opening stages.

However, the southern French side struck two times in the closing moments to take a shock advantage. First, the English forward scored from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking turn of fortune, the Portuguese striker grabbed a vital leveler in the final moments to force the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the key figure, saving crucial attempts from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all converted successfully for PSG to complete a convincing penalty victory.

Now 14-time winners PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after completing a league and cup double, have now lifted this trophy for the 12th time in the past thirteen seasons.
